Nice Victory (providing you like green :-) by: Michael Scott
Seriously, that's quite a pretty bike.
Shot from that angle, with the belt drive prominently revealed, I'm reminded that I've always wondered how belt drive compares to shaft and even chain, in terms of an "over-all riding experience".
I've personally been exposed only to shafties and chain drives, and I know which I prefer between those two: the shaft is always heavier (although the Yamaha V-Stars DO have as lightweight a solution as would seem possible) but it far outweighs (pun intended) the alternative of oiling and tightening and bathing and checking and spraying and sprocket replacement and catching your damn pantlegs in them of the veritable, proverbial, ancestral "chains of love".
Chains go waaaaaaaay back and they certainly have performed yeoman duty over the decades (OK, a CENTURY!)...but still, I've always wondered: if you want a lightning quick sportbike, does it have to be chain driven? Or if you want a nice cruiser or touring bike, does it ONLY make sense to be a shafty or a "belty"?
