Bio for Belt Drive BettyHi Renee, Thank you so much for this opportunity. Currently I am a General Sales Manager for North Bay Toyota in North Bay Ontario. I have been in the automobile business for appoximately 13 years. We have twin 16 year old girls and a 19 year old girl which keep us busy when we are not working or riding. My passions are technology, riding and the car business. I love talking about my passions and this is where almost 3 years ago I started our website Ontario Motorcycle Rides - a travel website with information regarding Motorcycle trips for NORTHERN & SOUTHERN Ontario. I thought it was only natural to build a website about my new found Motorcycling Passion. With my love for technology I began learning programming code "HTML" and started on my journey of sharing our motorcycle rides in Northern and Southern Ontario with others via a website.
I began riding Motorcycles in 2005. It all started on a whim where I thought . . . boy that looks like fun. My first bike was a brand new 2005 Yamaha Majesty 400cc Scooter (yes I said Scooter). I fell in love with the ride feeling and within 3 weeks I had traded that Scooter in for a new 2005 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic Over the winter I had decided to trade up for a larger cruiser bike so I bought a 2006 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe.
During that summer while riding on Hwy 124 in Northern Ontario and riding 2 up on the outside lane we hit a bear which ended up totalling the bike. We were able to keep the bike up (angels i guess). To this day I have no idea how I didn't drop the bike or sustain major injury's. The bear ran out from the side of a ditch, his head hit the front forks and his body took out the entire side of the bike. With the forks collapsed and my foot jammed into the rear brake we were able to slowly pull over to the side and dismount. Believe it or not the bear was not dead! My buddy on a different bike turned around and drove slowly around the bear as it was unconsciouos stretched out in the middle of the road, after a few minutes the bear slowly woobles to his feet and takes off back into the bush. So again I was out looking to buy a new bike so I bought the exact same thing only in a 2007 model year.
I finished out the year with that bike and then again during the winter I decided to trade it in for yet a larger touring bike so I bought a 2007 Yamaha Venture,
kept that bike for a year or so and then just last year 2009 purchased a new 2008 Honda Goldwing (wow what a bike).
So since begining to ride in 2005 I have owned 6 new bikes and yes I know (big mistake) as I lost alot of money trading them in. You would think I should know better being in the car business. If I only knew that I would have loved riding so much perhaps I could have started with a larger bike in the beginning. I think it was best I started this way as safety is key and starting with something your comfortable on is safer. Here's a slide show of my past and current Goldwing.
This spring of 2010 approximately 81 days (Mid April) we will launch Motorides TV where our website visitors will be able to experience Virtual HD Motorcycle Rides from Ontario using our Virtual HD 1080 High Def. motorcycle mounted cameras to show off some of the most beautiful rides and roads that you can experience in Northern and Southern Ontario Canada from the comfort of your home or office.
Renee, Thank you again for this opportunity. If I missed something please contact me at your earliest convenience.
