Manitoulin Island

Manitoulin Island is a beacon for hikers and cyclists alike, drawing them to ever-new discoveries down winding scenic roads perfect for a Motorcycle Ride and magnificent hiking trails. Springtime delights nature lovers with its kaleidoscope of spring flowers and diverse bird and wildlife populations, while fishing competitions, auctions, live theatre and art exhibits are featured activities during the summer months.

Manitoulin Island has many different communities that make up the island. No matter where you travel on the island, each community has something unique about it. Whether it's waterfalls, scenic look outs or a windy road that screams full throttle coming out of those long windy corners, you'll be sure to find something eye catching on Manitoulin Island.

Our Motorcycle ride on Manitoulin Island in the summer of 2009 was one of the most scenic rides this year. We travelled with another couple leaving North Bay on Friday morning to arrive at South Baymouth for 6:00 pm's Ferry Ride to Tobermory on the Chi-Cheemaun. It was an excellent ride with great weather and lots of unique stops.

Here is a link to Manitoulin Island's Ten Mile Point Lookout & rest stop/gift store. This store has some very unique and hard to find items with local crafts people making many of their items that are for sale.
