Cool Smartphone Apps for Motorcyclists

As mentioned in a previous post about technology and motorcycling, more and more bikers are using technology to help enhance their adventures on the road. Having GPS installed on your bike used to be a luxury. Now most motorcyclists have smartphones in their pockets that help them get from point A to point B without fear of getting lost or accidentally taking a wrong turn. Mobile technology is changing the way we ride and making our lives as bikers easier and more enjoyable. If you're looking for some apps that will enhance your next trip on the stunning roads of Ontario, consider these fun and useful apps:

Trip Journal This app for Android, iOS, Bada, and Symbian mobile devices will help you share all the experiences from your trips with your friends and family back home. It keeps track of which routes you're on and displays them on a map you can share. Additionally, it lets you share pictures, videos, and blog posts about your travels. This app will sync up with your Facebook, Picasa, and Flickr accounts as well so you can digitally capture all of your adventures on multiple channels.

BreadCrumbz The routes Google Maps tells you to take aren't always the routes you'll enjoy taking the most. This app for Android devices lets you share the best routes for motorcycles. If you're a nature lover and seek out routes that provide the most beautiful backdrops, this is definitely the app for you. As you probably know, the most efficient route isn't always the best route for the adventurous biker. So, use this app to share the cool routes your find and find out about amazing routes from your friends.

GasBuddy Tired of paying top dollar to fuel up on your trips? You're not alone. Fortunately, GasBuddy can help you save a lot on gas over the course of your trips. It's an app for iPhones, Android phones, and Blackberry phones that finds the cheapest gas prices based on your location. Just remember to start looking for gas stations on your phone before you're about to run out. You don't want to end up running out of fuel on your way to a station!

Best Biking Roads This app, available for both iOS and Android devices, offers its users' favorite routes for their motorcycle travels. It includes pictures of routes, video footage of roads, and detailed maps of how to access and stay on routes. Like BreadCrumbz, it's an excellent resource for bikers who want to share routes and find out about new routes that will make their trips even more incredible.

These are just some of the many top apps that are changing the way motorcyclists travel. What are your favorite apps? Let us know!
